Polar bears, aside from being “spokesanimals” for Coca-Cola, are actually one of the more ferocious animals on the planet. But even the fearsome polar bear will wilt under the awesome adorableness of…the dog. Yes, man’s best friend is here to prove yet again that none can resist the urge to pet.
Recently, in Manitoba, Canada, a tour guide driving a group near an Eskimo dog sanctuary stopped his vehicle to bear witness to an amazing moment in nature.
David de Meulles, a guide for Northstar Tours, told ABC News “This big bear had just woken up from a cat nap and stopped right by the dog.” Check out what happened:
The polar bear finds a small dog right next to him, and lifts its big paw to give it a few pets down the back. Members of the tour group begin to laugh as the bear sniffs the pup and then continues to pet him.
Finally, the dog, satisfied, gets up and begins to walk away, except that its leash is in the way of the bear. Like a truck hitting reverse, the bear begins to back up slowly as if to say, “Hey little dude, your rope man, its, ah forget it.”
“It was incredible to see such a powerful animal be so friendly with such a small dog,” de Meulles said, adding that a member of the tour group was even moved to tears.
We said it once, we’ll say it again – none can resist the urge to pet.
