Baseball Fan Bill Murray Crashes White House Press Briefing Before Cubs Clinch World Series Bid

Chicago Cubs baseball fan Bill Murray took over the White House press briefing room on Friday to poke fun at his team’s playoff rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Ghostbusters star made an unexpected appearance to address reporters at the U.S. president’s Washington, D.C., residence, but instead of discussing politics, he used his time on the podium to share his thoughts on the difficulties facing the Dodgers and their star pitcher Clayton Kershaw.
The Dodgers trailed the Cubs 3-2 in the seven-game League Championship Series, and the two teams faced off for Game 6 at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Saturday, where the Cubs beat the Dodgers 5-0 to clinch a spot in the World Series for the first time since 1945.
Murray, who donned full Cubs gear for his press call, was at the White House to meet with President Barack Obama ahead of his Mark Twain Prize for American Humor honor on Sunday.
Ironically, Obama, the former Senator of Illinois, is a fan of the Cubs’ crosstown rivals, the Chicago White Sox.
