Some parents are just too awesome for their children to ever understand.
One couple, Karen and Jesse Oldfield, parents to Sebastian, two, and Theodore, just 4 days old at the time these spectacular pictures were taken, has gone viral for taking some adorable family photos.
The Oldfields are massive Harry Potter fans, and decided to continue their tradition of dressing up as characters from the novels – the couple dressed up as Harry and Hermoine for their first Halloween together – with their children. They dressed Sebastian, who was 8 months old at the time, as Harry himself, shown in the hilariously adorable photo above.
But what has earned the family internet fame is their most recent photoshoot with their two boys. The Oldfields decided to adopt a scene from the second book in the series, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.
Be warned, the following pictures may cause an endless case of “awws!”
The photos, shot by Lune de la Rogue Photography‘s Kelsey Clouse, were a recreation of a scene where Harry and his friends, during their Herbology class, are faced with the task of re-potting a Mandrake, a plant with an infant-like root that is equipped with a piercing scream.
The couple told UsWeekly that the photo almost didn’t turn out the way they wanted, as their oldest son wasn’t content with “performing” until he was wearing full Potter-garb, and little Theodore Oldfield almost fell asleep in his pot!
“But when I began to lift him out he started to fuss,” said Jesse Oldfield. “And that’s when the magic happened.”
Even though Harry’s story has ended, let’s hope more photos of families like these keep on coming. Stay awesome, Oldfields!
