Move over, Legolas, get out of the way, Hawkeye, this Australian homeowner is giving you a run for your money. On Sunday afternoon, after hearing noises coming from his property, a 68-year-old avenger went outside to investigate. He found an unknown individual in the process of stealing his car. Well, that wouldn’t do.
The thief, upon seeing that he was found, left the car and tried to flee on foot. The homeowner picked up his trusty compound bow, notched an arrow, and fired. The thief’s cheeks would never be the same, as the arrow found a home in his buttocks.
The burglar did manage to get away in his car parked nearby, but we can imagine how uncomfortable that car ride was for him. He has yet to be apprehended and there has been no record of someone checking into a hospital for arrow-related wounds to the posterior, according to a statement by New South Wales police force:
The weapons used by the homeowner have since been taken in for evidence, and though users do not require a permit for compound bows in New South Wales, it may be possible the man will face charges. Detective Inspector Johnstone said, “The owner is part of an archery club and takes part in that sport.” Bad news for the thief.
Criminal investigation aside, that is one cool old dude.
