“Football is like life — it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority,” said legendary NFL coach Vince Lombardi.
It turns out that animals, like people, have the capability to uphold that belief — but, you know, in a more adorable and hilarious way.
Super Bowl LI on February 5, 2017 is approaching — and you’re not ready until you witness these animals trying out the sport we in the U.S. know and love as football. Here are animals playing football in their own cute way:
The perfect roll, but not so perfect catch.
The pig is the same size as the pigskin.
We want a ballet and football hybrid after seeing this otter.
Hut, hut, aww!
Can’t stop, won’t stop, but actually can’t stop.
Fishball.
This dog needs to get signed as a running back ASAP.
This cat is the only one actually playing and still going hard.
Hey, it’s hard when you don’t have any hands.
No hands, no problem!
Small cat, big kick.
Note to self: wolves do NOT like football.
But have no fear, the cuteness is on the way.
Although horses as well aren’t too fond of football (the players, at least).
Okay, after watching animals playing football, we are now ready for Super Bowl Sunday.
