At just 12 years old, Jeremy Shuler is wise beyond his years. This upcoming fall, the young boy will attend Cornell University and will be 6 years younger than the typical incoming freshman.
The youthful genius plans to study and major in engineering, following in the footsteps of his parents who are both engineers.
“I was excited when I found out I got accepted to Cornell,” Shuler shared with Texas Tech Today. “It is the best choice for me.”
Shuler applied to Cornell with a pretty impressive resume. The 12-year-old had perfect scores on multiple AP exams and has already received college credit “for calculus, chemistry, mechanics, electricity and magnetism, statistics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics,” shared the Ithaca Journal.
If Shuler completes his coursework in four years, he will be the youngest student to ever graduate from Cornell.
Shuler seems pretty pleased with his decision.
“We’ve been to Cornell a few times, visiting family, and their food is good, which is very important,” Shuler said.
He added, “I’m also excited to learn new things and make new friends. Cornell will be different, though, especially in the first few weeks as I’ll need help to navigate campus and get used to life at school because I’ve been homeschooled my whole life.”
